My career mission is to empower learners across the world by improving the quality and accessibility of adaptive learning modules and providing access to data driven tools for educators. I am passionate about developing new cutting edge technologies to improve the world.
By day I work as a software developer for the Suncorp Group, and as a tutor at the Queensland University of Technology. By night, I work on a variety of personal and freelance projects, constantly seeking to improve my skills. I believe in always delivering a high quality project both because my reputation depends on it, and because I believe its right.
I am currently completing a Google Nano Degree in machine learning in order to improve and evidence my existing skill set.
Planning to undertake a graduate certificate to help enhance my skills as an educator in tertiary environments.
It was at QUT that I discovered my love of data analysis, software development and educational technology.
Working as a Graduate Software Developer at Suncorp is extremely rewarding. It allows me to constantly keep imrpoving my programming skills, while working on critical backend infrastructure in a supportive and agile environment.
I am passionate about my work as a sessional academic at QUT as it allows me to help aspiring
software developers & engineers reach their goals. As I had a troubled schooling, I appreciate
value of a mentor you can connect with, as such, I am always actively looking to improve my skills as a software
educator & developer so I can better help others to improve their technical skills, and realise their passions.
Research focused on creating video-spheres for immersive data visualisation. The project had a focus
on investigating various methods to improve the communication of complex science to general public through interactivity.
Working within QUT supporting peer programs through my role as events support
assistant provided an excellent opportunity to improve my understanding of the
preparation and behind the scenes management that is required for large scale events.
As part of a small team of undergraduates, I helped develop a prototype for
a responsive website for the Endeavor Foundation. This was my first major web
development project, and gave me an excellent opportunity to work alongside
others from various disciplines including business, pschology and animations.
In this role I have worked on a number of interesting projects effecting tens
of thousands of QUT students including; An online university wide training program for peer programs;
A face to face training program for QUT STIMulate;
A recognition framework for volunteer work completed by QUT students.
Our work has been in collaboration with a wide range of staff including the QUT
DVC's and was presented at the QUT Student Success Symposium.
STIMulate is a free help center run within QUT to deliver help with math,
science and IT. In this I was able to help students help overcome difficulties
in reaching their passions, while being given an excellent opportunity to improve
both my communication skills and core technical knowledge.
