Objective

My career mission is to empower learners across the world by improving the quality and accessibility of adaptive learning modules and providing access to data driven tools for educators. I am passionate about developing new cutting edge technologies to improve the world.

What I Do ?

By day I work as a software developer for the Suncorp Group, and as a tutor at the Queensland University of Technology. By night, I work on a variety of personal and freelance projects, constantly seeking to improve my skills. I believe in always delivering a high quality project both because my reputation depends on it, and because I believe its right.

    Working as a Graduate Software Developer at Suncorp is extremely rewarding. It allows me to constantly keep imrpoving my programming skills, while working on critical backend infrastructure in a supportive and agile environment.

    I am passionate about my work as a sessional academic at QUT as it allows me to help aspiring software developers & engineers reach their goals.     Sessional Researcher in Immersive Visualisation

    Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Mathematical and Statistical Frontiers, Brisbane

    Research focused on creating video-spheres for immersive data visualisation. The project had a focus on investigating various methods to improve the communication of complex science to general public through interactivity.

    Working within QUT supporting peer programs through my role as events support assistant provided an excellent opportunity to improve my understanding of the preparation and behind the scenes management that is required for large scale events.

    Web Developer

    Community Engaged Learning Lab, Brisbane

    As part of a small team of undergraduates, I helped develop a prototype for a responsive website for the Endeavor Foundation. This was my first major web development project, and gave me an excellent opportunity to work alongside others from various disciplines including business, pschology and animations.

    Student Advisor

    Peer Programs Student Advisory Team, QUT, Brisbane

    In this role I have worked on a number of interesting projects effecting tens of thousands of QUT students including; An online university wide training program for peer programs; A face to face training program for QUT STIMulate; A recognition framework for volunteer work completed by QUT students. Our work has been in collaboration with a wide range of staff including the QUT DVC's and was presented at the QUT Student Success Symposium.

    Peer Learning Facilitator

    STIMulate, QUT, Brisbane

    STIMulate is a free help center run within QUT to deliver help with math, science and IT. In this I was able to help students help overcome difficulties in reaching their passions, while being given an excellent opportunity to improve both my communication skills and core technical knowledge.
